πŸ’› About Me: Finding the Sweet Spot Between Wellness and What’s Covered

Hi, I’m Lisa β€” your Holistic Matchmaker.

Before I ever talked about insurance, I spent years helping new families as a lactation consultant. I watched countless mothers go back to work sooner than they wanted, just to keep their health insurance. I saw how the system shapes families’ choices in ways that don’t feel supportive or fair.

And then life gave me a whole new perspective.

In May 2022, while on a family vacation, I had a heart attack. I was 51.

There was nothing in my health history to predict it. I ate well, practiced yoga, preferred acupuncture over prescriptions, and gave birth to both my kids at home. Hospitals? Not my thing.

But there I was, suddenly depending on a system I’d spent most of my life avoiding.

The bill was over $25,000.

Thankfully, I had an ACA plan with a zero deductible β€” the kind you don’t fully appreciate until the bill shows up. The coverage helped, but the experience opened my eyes to how complicated and disconnected the whole system feels.

When my income rose the next year, my premiums skyrocketed to over $500 a month β€” for coverage I rarely used and that didn’t reflect how I actually live.

So, like any stubbornly curious person, I started digging.

I read the fine print on every plan and every health share. I learned about pre-existing clauses, reimbursement delays, and all the hidden “gotchas” people don’t find out until it’s too late.

I kept asking: Why is it this hard for healthy people to get good coverage?

That’s when it clicked: If I found this confusing β€” and I live and breathe health and wellness β€” how much harder must it be for everyone else?

So I decided to do something about it.

Now, I help people like me β€” those who believe in natural wellness, clean living, and real choice β€” find health coverage that actually fits their values.

Whether you’re a young family, an empty nester, or a grandparent (like me!) trying to make sense of the system, I want you to feel empowered, not cornered.

Because I’ve been there β€” on both sides of it.

And I believe you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your peace of mind or your principles to feel protected.
